Arsenal are currently locked in talks with Chelsea winger Willian, according to reports.

The Brazilian international is poised to leave the Stamford Bridge club this summer after failing to agree a new deal with the Blues.

Willian, who has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season, was offered a new two-year deal by the Blues several months ago but turned it down, with the winger holding out for a three-year option.

Chelsea, though, are not willing to hand out a new three-year contract to the winger as he turns 32 in less than a week’s time.

With that in mind, the winger is poised to leave the West London club when his contract expires, as soon as Chelsea have concluded their 2019/20 fixtures, which could be as soon as this weekend if they fail to get past Bayern Munich in their Uefa Champions League last-16 tie.

And it appears as though Arsenal are leading the chase to sign the right-winger, with reports in the national media claiming that Mikel Arteta – the Gunners head coach – is desperate to add a new attacking option to his ranks this summer.
