Coutinho agrees Arsenal terms

Philippe Coutinho has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal as his switch to north London moves a step closer.

Catalan newspaper Sport outline the details, via The Sun, claiming the playmaker has now agreed a deal with the Gunners ahead of a summer move, leaving the club needing to agree a fee with Barcelona.

The Brazilian’s loan spell at Bayern Munich is set to come to an end and he will return to the Camp Nou this summer, but the Catalan giants are keen to sell the Brazilian on a permanent basis.

The former Liverpool player would be a significant arrival at the Emirates, but it is not yet clear if it will be a loan arrangement or permanent transfer.

Coutinho is keen to return to the Premier League having endured underwhelming spells in La Liga and the Bundesliga.

Torreira Milan links could prove beneficial

Milan are hopeful of agreeing a deal to sign Lucas Torreira this summer, as per a report in The Telegraph.

And football.london argue the Rossoneri’s interest in the Uruguayan could prove beneficial for the Gunners, who want to reshape their midfield this summer.

Dani Ceballos and Thomas Partey are among the players to be linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, but interest in Torreira from the Serie A giants could open another link.

Ismael Bennacer left Arsenal in 2017 and has excelled since with Empoli and Milan, and a return to north London makes perfect sense.

Bennacer is left-footed and would fill a similar role in the team to Granit Xhaka, so while he may not be a priority signing this summer, he would add competition for places and provide a long-term midfield option.

One year on from David Luiz’s arrival

It’s now been a year since Arsenal stunned fans by securing an eleventh-hour deal to land David Luiz from rivals Chelsea.

A report in football.london reflects on the Brazilian’s action-packed opening 12 months at the club, which have included a series of highs and lows.

Luiz quickly became a regular at the Emirates and despite a series of solid performances, he did give away a record five penalties across the Premier League this campaign.

However, the experienced defender can marshal the defence and provide an outlet from the back with his ball-playing abilities.
