The Premier League giants have tested the water over a swoop for Amadou, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

It is unclear what answer the Gunners received and whether they were given a price at which they could land Diawara.

The midfielder was praised for his displays under coach Paulo Fonseca this season and I Giallorossi could want to keep hold of him.

The 23-year-old star made a total of 22 appearances in Serie A for his side over the course of the campaign.

The Italian heavyweights have the holding midfielder locked down on a contract running through until June 2024.

Meantime, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has allegedly indicated that he is happy to extend his deal at Arsenal.

With just 11 months remaining on his existing deal, the Gabon international has been heavily mentioned with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Considering the profile of the clubs who may be interested in his signature, the 31-year-old is reportedly open to biding his time before making a decision.

However, according to The Telegraph, Pierre-Emerick is on the brink of committing his immediate future to Arsenal.
